SsangYong Cars - Actyon And Actyon Sports
SsangYong cars are not famous in the auto world for their looks, and are sometimes considered quite ugly. But now the latest model, the Actyon, which has replaced the Musso is quite different and positively good looking. It is available in two models, The Coupe Sports and the Sports Utility. Both the models have a choice of drives and engines. You can opt for a 2 wheel drive or a 4 wheel drive, and you can choose between a third generation common rail variable geometry turbo (VGT) diesel engine or four cylinder petrol engine with overhead cam and a capacity of 2.3 liters.
It is not as boxy as most 4WD cars are but has an aerodynamic shape that can cause quite a stir in compact 4WD circles. This is the reason for calling it a Coupe Sport. Both the cars, the Coupe Sport and the Sports Utility have a grille that is shark like and headlights that are eagle eyed and quite attractive. It is definitely one of the most dynamic looking of cars in its particular 4WD segment of cars.
There is a very strong resemblance to the SsangYong Kyron but these are much smaller models which have very good on and off road capabilities. You can also opt for a dual cab utility model, which has the chance of becoming quite popular with small tradesman and people who think that it suits their life style. The dual cab model has a fairly roomy load tray and can prove most useful for people who need to move small loads during their daily routines.

The Actyon Sports Utility has a wider base and can carry more loads. It has a European designed power plant, and a double wishbone front suspension, a five-link rear end as well as having a Electronic Stability Program (ESP) built into its controls. This makes a change from what is offered by most Korean manufacturers.
HDC or hill descent control is also standard on some of the Actyon models, and the engine produces a 104KW of power at 4000 rpm and a torque of 310 at 27600 rpm. The 2.3 liter petrol engine gives 110Kw at 5500 rpm and a torque of 214 at 4500 rpm.
According to SsangYong the 5 door Actyon and the Actyon Sports dual cab will make an impact on the market and be the mainstay for the company. Both models will offer the VGT diesel engine. The sweeping styling and coupe like appearance of both models is quite different from the compact SUVs now available and its unique styling and fuel efficient engines are a real alternative to models currently on offer.
The SsanYong design touch indicates that they have some of the most creative designers and the styling of the front grille and headlights vouch for this. Some limited versions of the Actyon offer an electronically controlled four wheel drive, and others have hill descent control. This allows the ABS brake system to control the speed of each wheel, and comes into operation when the car speeds up while descending a hill and when the driver has not used the accelerator.
