SsangYong has taken its biggest passenger car which is the Rexton C-S and removed its rear seats to give it the function of a commercial vehicle. It can take a load of 740 kg, which is quite a lot when you consider other points. It however has a limitation in space and that is a maximum of about 2200 liters. So decide whether the loads you intend to carry are volume or weight specific before you decide to buy the Rexton for commercial purposes. It is a good 200 liters less than its own cousin Kyron C-S from the same stable and which is a deal cheaper to buy as well.

The rear windows are tinted so that the load is not easily visible and the loading areas at the back can be accessed from the rear doors or the tailgate. The back doors are convenient if you are putting in small items, but its shape and operability restrict its use when the items are bigger. For loads with more volume, you may have to use the tailgate to load and unload the items you are carrying. The Rexton C-S can carry quite a lot of heavy loads, but whether the interior trim can take the knocks that it will have to take in the 4X4 terrain conditions that it could be driven on is to be seen. The manufacturers SsangYong have insulated the engine very well and the cabin has almost no engine noise, but once you lift the bonnet you will know that the VM-sourced engine is not a very quiet one. In the cabin you will only hear a quiet rumble while driving. The interiors of the Rexton C-S are not classic and look a bit ordinary, but it does have an air quality control unit and a driver's seat that can retain the memory of three persons. The price is very attractive and even offers ABS brakes; ESP with an active rollover protection, Hill Descent control, wh9ich gives you more control over the vehicle while descending steep roads. It also has Kenwood audio system and climate control built into the price.

You can install a guard to separate the driver and the passenger he is carrying from the load that is being carried, but this is at an additional cost. A tachograph kit that can keep track of the movements of the vehicle and record its times is an extra that other manufacturers do not provide. The door mirrors can be controlled and are heated and foldable. The Rexton seems to be more popular as a commercial vehicle than as a passenger car.

There is a reason for this. People running a commercial vehicle business or a business that does run commercial vehicles is not too concerned with the brand of their vehicle. What they need is a vehicle that will do the job for them at the least price. And here is where the Rexton C-S scores over all its rivals, by the space that it offers and the economy with which it runs. It may not be the most stylish of vehicles in its interiors which seem a bit outdated, but it has an ability to tackle 4X4 terrain very easily and this is what operators look for in their vehicles.

Its low price and the 3 year, 1000 mile warranty is a reason why many of the smaller commercial operators are opting for the Rexton C-S.
